About

As a visual storyteller I use images to illuminate the unseen, through editorial and picturebook illustration.

Using natural, organic materials I craft my illustrations by hand, drawing out colour and texture from handmade inks and sun exposed cyanotypes.

I digitally collage my handcrafted work into conceptual images, delivering a visual language that conveys the textured, messy, unseen sides of life:  motherhood, sisterhood, the power of the feminine and humankind’s connection with and reliance on our natural environment.

An ongoing research interest into the visualisation of matrescence; the physical and psychological process of becoming a mother, underpins much of my illustration work. As does a love of ‘what if’s’ – using my sketchbook to observe my own children’s play and curiosity is key to creating the textured, playful worlds that are at the heart of my picturebook illustration.

Originally from Jersey, I now live on the West Sussex coast with my family.  I’m proud to say I completed an MA in Illustration (Distinction)(Falmouth University) in 2024 whilst juggling work and raising small children!
